In this period, the medical observer can expect the following:
To observe and learn about the proper prioritization of patients according to the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Triaging System.
To encounter a wide range of medical cases, including trauma, acute ambulatory illnesses, chronic diseases and other emergency cases.
To observe a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where quick knowledgeable decision-making is crucial.
To be able to experience and appreciate the life-saving details that a point-of-care ultrasound can provide.
To gain exposure to various medical specialties since after initial stabilization, patients are going to be admitted under different specialties.
To observe a collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, technicians and support staff.
To be under the mentorship of approachable emergency medicine residents and consultants.
Pre-Residency and Residency Program
Now, if you have done the Observership program and wanted more out of our training, you can then proceed to our Pre-Residency Training!
This would involve already counting your initial Observership program as your first half of training while doing another 2 weeks to complete the training itself prior to joining the official Residency Program.
